Life cycle thinking – call for proposals

3 Giugno 2013

Ricevo dall’UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) e pubblico. Si tratta di un’occasione per le aziende interessate ad adottare il life cycle thinking. La call for proposals si riferisce al progetto ENRTP su “Integrated resource efficiency in international supply chains”.

We are pleased to announce a call for proposals from companies interested in implementing a project which adopts life cycle thinking in their business management and operation. As part of the UNEP project on integration of resource efficiency in international supply chains funded by the EC, successful proposals will receive technical assistance to implement the project over an 8 month period. A case study may then be developed which highlights the experiences of the company during the project implementation. Seed funding could be provided to developing country applicants.

Ideally, companies applying will already have an environmental or sustainability policy, submit an proposal to start or expand the application of life cycle approaches in their business and fulfil the additional criteria as outlined in the ‘Guiding document’.

Part of the proposal includes the results of a self assessment, which indicates the current level of maturity, gaps and opportunities for improvement using a life cycle approach. If you would like to receive assistance concerning the development of the self-assessment or any other issues, please email info@lifecycleinitiative.org referencing ‘Advisory Services: LCM Pilot Projects’ and a team member will contact you.

All the documents you will need are available from the website http://www.lifecycleinitiative.org/lcm-pilot-projects/

An international evaluation committee, including UNEP and SETAC, will evaluate the project proposals and the results will be communicated to applicants.

If you would like to submit a project proposal, please do so by the 15th of August by sending us the required documents to info@lifecycleinitiative.org referencing ‘Project submission: LCM Pilot Projects’.

Should you have any questions about the terms and approach used in this project, please do not hesitate to reach us at the email address indicated above.
