“Model cradle to gate in SimaPro”: a free course by our Swedish partner

27 November 2023

SimaPro is distributed around the world through a Global Partner Network of 25 dedicated companies, counting 2B, which share the commitment to transparency, quality and accuracy.

Since the 90s the network has grown thanks to a collaborative spirit and a strong belief in long-term relationships with clients and PRé, head house of the software. The common objective among the partners is to ease access to LCA, so each local player has developed a personalized educational offer. 2B offers a rich training calendar on LCA and SimaPro (discover more here) but this time we would like to present our Swedish partner’s initiative.

Miljögiraff proposes several courses, where you can learn more about LCA and its methodological phases, SimaPro, Life Cycle Screening, and eco-design. In addition, they have developed a free introductory course on modeling from cradle to gate in SimaPro.

We have asked our partner some questions on this free course, let’s discover more in the interview here below!

Why did you create a free course?
We created a free course because we want to lower the barrier for businesses to start using SimaPro. The course is a great onboarding to the software which we know can be overwhelming at first. The larger goal is to enable more people to calculate environmental impact and develop reduction strategies based on it.

Are there any prerequisites or prior knowledge required for participants to get the most out of the course?
The course is for anyone interested in LCA and SimaPro, so no prior knowledge in SimaPro is needed. We recommend an interest in LCA 😉
If you are interested in the software, PRé offers a demo version of SimaPro so you can try it out before signing up.

What are the steps to access the course material and is there a time limit to access it?

The steps are simple! You need to register on our online platform, log in and… voilà you have access to the course material. Access is unlimited.
